About
Nestled within the Pennine hills, the area of Saddleworth comprises several picturesque villages situated amongst beautiful moorland, valleys, rivers, woodland, reservoirs and the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. With an industrial history, the landscape displays both natural and man-made features, which all add to the unique character of the area.
Mother and daughter, Gill and Charlotte Brett, are two local photographers who have lived in Saddleworth for over twenty years. During that time, they have gained an appreciation of the Saddleworth landscape, architecture and character. Through Saddleworth In Focus, they aim to continue to capture the most iconic viewpoints of Saddleworth in an unforgettable way. They very much hope that their photography will help to promote tourism to the Saddleworth area and also preserve its history and heritage.
Saddleworth In Focus offers fine art photographic prints of stunning local views which are so easily taken for granted. Gill and Charlotte are experienced photographers and both hold Royal Photographic Society Distinctions. In addition to viewing their work at www.saddleworthinfocus.co.uk, you can now buy their fine art photographic prints at Saddleworth Crafts Co-operative in Delph. They have also held exhibitions locally and some of their framed work can currently be seen at The Diggle Hotel (available to purchase). They were involved in the 'Simply Saddleworth' photobook which was produced last year by a group of Saddleworth photographers and has currently raised over £1000 for local charities.
